9. Fruit Seeds
Over the last twenty years or so there’s been a trend amongst health aware people to include more seeds in their diets.
Many seeds do in fact have strong health benefits and I often include things like sunflower and pumpkin kernels in my salad dishes. I love the nutty like flavor and the textures that they add to a dish and I’ve noticed that many restaurants are now doing the same.
However, not all seeds are healthy, and there’s some that you should always avoid. In particular those from stone fruit such as cherries and the seeds from apples and pears. These seeds all contain quantities of a type of hydrogen cyanide called prussic acid. This has the capacity to make you very ill if consumed in sufficient quanties.
